Prepare to Experience Maximum OA !
|
Lodge and Other OA Activities - Be sure not to miss the fun activities and opportunities available
to Arrowmen throughout the year.
You will want to regularly check the Lodge Calendar and Current Events pages for the latest information on upcoming events. |
| |
| Your Chapter - Fellow
arrowmen in your area meet regularly to plan for upcoming events,
service projects, and have a great time. The chapter you belong to
is determined by the location of the Scouting unit where you are
registered. |
| |
| Brotherhood Membership - Every
arrowman is expected to continue their journey beyond the Ordeal to
Brotherhood membership. Your chapter has Brotherhood and Vigil
Honor members who will be happy to help you successfully complete your
membership in the Order. Study guides, ceremony information and
other resources are available. |
| |
Lodge Committees - Service in
Lodge committees is an opportunity to put your skills, energy and
talents into practice working with other arrowmen with similar
interests.
Contact your Chapter Chief, the Committee Chairman, or the Lodge
Chief to see where you can get plugged in! The current Lodge
leadership all served as a Committee Chair or a Chapter Officer and
earned Brotherhood Membership before they could run for their leadership
role. |
| |
Jumpstart for New Arrowmen - The National Order of the Arrow created this multi-media resource for
you to learn more about the Order. Consult your OA Handbook or
someone in OA for the password. |
| |
Blue Ridge Council - Learn more
about our local council of the Boy Scouts of America, and you will
appreciate what a great place the Upstate of South Carolina is for
Scouting.
The Order of the Arrow exists to serve Scouting and to promote scout
camping by recognizing honor campers in Scouting's national honor
society. |
| |
| National OA Programs -
The Order of the Arrow provides several programs to benefit its members
and scouting. Adventure programs that allow you to give meaningful
service, form lifelong friendships, and learn about leadership include
the Wilderness Voyage at Northern Tier, the OA
Trail Crew at Philmont Scout Ranch, and the OA Ocean Adventure at Flordia Sea Base. |
| |
| National Order of the Arrow Conference - The Order of the Arrow has a national meeting of about 7,000
arrowmen every two or three years. The last NOAC was held in 2006 between July 31 - August 5 at Michigan St. University. The next one will be held in 2009, so you now have plenty of time to prepare for that. |
