Welcome New Members

Atta Kulla Kulla Lodge of the Order of the Arrow provides community service and promotes scout camping to the Upstate of South Carolina. We serve the following counties in the Blue Ridge Council: Greenville, Pickens, Anderson, Oconee, Newberry, Laurens, Greenwood and Abbeville Counties.

Our Lodge unites eight (8) chapters that each promote brotherhood, cheerfulness and service. Atta Kulla Kulla Lodge, along with 10 other lodges, make up Southern Region Section 5.

The 2009 pages for our history books will be out at the upcoming Winter Banquet.

For those that do not have their History of Atta Kulla Kulla Lodge 185 Through Memorabilia book, you will have the opportunity to get a complete book this year at the price of $40. The history books include all the history of our patches, neckerchiefs, fellowships, belt buckles, lodge leadership pieces, and more and more, along with vivid color pictures on each page.

As has been our tradition, the history update pages for all memorabilia issued in 2009 will also be available at the Winter Banquet in January 2010. New pages will sell for $0.75 each.

News Lodge Cookout

This year’s Lodge Cookout will be at Camp Old Indian on Wednesday July 22nd. Plan to meet at the Camp at 6pm for some great food and fellowship. The menu includes smoked BBQ and all the fixin’s. The 100th Anniversary National Hall of Leadership is an opportunity for anyone to recognize outstanding leadership by a Scout, registered Scout leader, or Scouting volunteer who made a significant difference in the lives of others by the extraordinary service they have given and the Scouting virtues they have modeled.
Do you know of an outstanding Scout or Scouter in the Blue Ridge Council? Nominate them for the BSA's 100th Anniversary National Hall of Leadership. Nomination form and information can be found [here].

News BSA Silver Antelope Recepient

One of Atta Kulla Kulla's very own, Michael L. Thompson, will receive the BSA Silver Antelope Award at Southern Region Silver Antelope Reception this year. The Silver Antelope Award is the regional-level distinguished servic award of the Boy Scouts. The Silver Antelope recognizes outstanding service to one of the four regions. More information on the Silver Antelope can be found on Scouting's national webpage [here]. Mr. Thompson has given numerous years of service and dedication to Atta Kulla Kulla, the Southern Region, Order of the Arrow National, and the Blue Ridge Council. Be sure to congratulate him when you see him next!

News OA Service Corps 2009

Atta Kulla Kulla is looking for volunteers to serve on the 2009 OA Service Corps for the Council Exporee. The service corps will be there to help out with the event, for example parking cars, working events on Saturday and helping out with the shows as well. The service corps is looking for 30 youths and 10 adults to serve. There is a $25.00 fee, which covers 4 meals, 1 OA Service Corps T-shirt, 1 council exporee patch, and 2 special OA Service Corps Patches. Download the information and registration form [here].

 

News National Leadership Seminar

The closest National Leadership Seminar for 2009 will be March 27 - 29 at the Ridgecrest Conference Center just east of Asheville, NC. There are still openings, and registration is first-come, first-served. The registration deadline is March 15th, so don't delay - take advantage of this great training event. Spring Fellowship is quickly approaching and it's time to send in your registration information! The weekend will be filled with leadership opportunities, training, and of course - fellowship and games! Ordeal members are encouraged to participate in Brotherhood conversion and seal their membership with the lodge.
