"From the beginning it has been our hope that the Order would serve a useful purpose in causing the Scout Promise and Law to spring into action, especially in the Scout camps in all parts of our nation.  We are still dedicated to this high purpose."

E. Urner Goodman, Founder of the Order of the Arrow

Lodge Mission & Goals

The Purpose of the Order of the Arrow is fourfold:

1.

To recognize those Scout campers who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives

2.

To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit

3.

To promote Scout camping

4.

To crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others

The Mission of Atta Kulla Kulla Lodge

The mission of the lodge is to achieve the purpose of the Order of the Arrow as an integral part of the Boy Scouts of America in the council through positive youth leadership under the guidance of selected capable adults.

The Lodge holds many activities throughout the year. Whether gathering for service projects, to have a meal with our families, or to have fun together, you will always find good cheer at Lodge events. The Order of the Arrow is a youth led organization, and each event is coordinated by youth under the direction of the Lodge Vice Chief of Administration.

Each event is well planned, but the most important part is your attendance because you will miss a fun time if you miss a Lodge event. Those who complete their Ordeal and then never attend a Lodge event may actually think the OA is all work and no fun, but they could not be more wrong.

Atta Kulla Kulla has won the Spirit Award at the Dixie Fellowship for six years in a row in recent years. This award is for the lodge that shows the other lodges how to have the best time at Dixie Fellowship. As a member of Atta Kulla Kulla Lodge, you have the opportunity to learn how to have a good time from experts.
