"From the beginning it has been our hope that the Order would serve a useful purpose in causing the Scout Promise and Law to spring into action, especially in the Scout camps in all parts of our nation.  We are still dedicated to this high purpose."

E. Urner Goodman, Founder of the Order of the Arrow

Camp Work Day
Work Day The Lodge Workday at Camp Old Indian is a very important service day. This year the work day will be on May 17th, 2008. Yet again the camp is under being constructed at this moment, and will continue until the beginning of camp. Although the Lodge and other scouts cannot contribute to this help, we can surely help set camp up for the summer, which is what has been done in the past. So go ahead, and mark this on your calendars and bring a bag lunch and some gloves and come to the Lodge workday. Anyone, including nonmembers, are invited to help out and this will be a great day of service for everyone to participate in and help give back to camp. If you have any questions, contact Jim Tenney at rtenney@carol.net for more information. We hope to see you all there!!
Summer Camp at COI
Native American Shield Summer is a busy time for Atta Kulla Kulla Lodge.  Each week at Camp Old Indian, AKK does:
  • Brotherhood questioning on Tuesday afternoon and Brotherhood ceremonies after dark
  • The Wednesday Dance Pageant at the camp fire, with dance practice in the afternoon for interested dancers
  • Ordeal induction, including Call Out at the Waterfront and several pre-Ordeal ceremonies on Thursday evening.
  • Elangomat service with the Ordeal candidates Thursday through Friday
  • Ordeal ceremonies on Friday night, and presentations to welcome the new Ordeal members to the Lodge
These weekly events are opportunities for service to help reduce the time demands on Arrowmen on camp staff.  Elangomats and principals for the Brotherhood ceremony are especially needed.
